Oh the humidity and heat...

Here we are -- THIRD TRIMESTER!! I feel like I have to say it over and over again, and yet it still doesn't feel like it is real. I keep waiting for all this surreal stuff to become real, you know?

I definitely have a soccer ball stomach now. From what I've read, this little girl has already passed the two-pound mark! Whoa!!!

I'm starting to get exhausted again, and walking in the 90+ degree and humidity is a KILLER!! It was a really humid weekend, and I tell ya, I am getting wiped out VERY quickly. Walking slow, sweating like crazy, and starting to get these lower back pains which is not totally painful but really uncomfortable. She is kicking here and there, but still not that much (which is expected because of my anterior placenta and plus size)

We have our 4D ultrasound on the 5th of June. We decided to go ahead with it, well *I* decided to go ahead with it, because I hope that seeing her in a more visual way will help make this more real. Silly I know. Then on the next day, June 6, we have our 29-week appointment checkup!!

We are slowly starting to get the baby stuff together. The crib was delivered this week, and we went to Babies R Us this weekend to pick up a crib mattress and gate for the baby room so the dogs (and A hopefully) can't get in.

Passed my Diabetes test!

So, the doctor's office calls this morning at 8:30 AM. Of course, I saw it on the caller ID and knowing that most doctors only call with bad news, I prepared myself for the worst as I answered the phone. She said "I know you would have probably called this afternoon, but I wanted to give you the good news this morning. You passed your glucose tolerance test with a 106!" Whoo hoo!! I can still eat whatever I want! Truth is, I don't eat that much crap anymore anyway, but it is so nice not to have that restriction.

The only bad news was that I am anemic, so they want me to start taking some prescription iron supplementation. I guess that partly explains why I have been so overly tired over the past couple of months.

I'm so happy, no gestational diabetes for me!!! (At least for now, but I'll take it!)

25w1d

Had my monthly checkup this morning, and everything looks right on track. I asked him about the numbness that I have been getting on the front of my right thigh at night when I lie on my back, which he attributes to being "normal" and the baby lying on the sciatic nerve. Also, I asked about what I had read on the internet about a higher rate of having a breech baby with an anterior placenta, and he says he has never seen that nor could he think of a reason why it would be that way.

I drank the glucose tolerance test drink at 8:30 AM this morning for my gestational diabetes blood test at 9:30 AM. Everyone complains that the stuff is nasty, but the truth was, it wasn't really that bad at all. I chilled it, so maybe that helped. It had a pretty bad aftertaste, but it was no where near as horrible as I was expecting. We should find out the results on TUESDAY -- I SO don't want to gestational diabetes!!!

Afterwards, DH and I went to the hospital (across the walkway) to preregister for "the birth." Still seems surreal to say that. We also signed up for the prenatal childbirth class, and we signed the kids up for the siblings classes. It's great because they are each in a different class, as one is for 3 to 5 year olds and the other is for 6 to 9 year olds. They gave me a list of what to pack for the hospital and told me I should have the bag ready in the 8th month! That's just two months away!!!

We are just less than 3 weeks from the third trimester... I still can't believe it. This past week, I have finally felt the baby at least once a day (for a few minutes at a time). I actually sit there and watch my belly do these little jumps, and it just totally blows me away. Totally surreal.

Next appointment is at 29w, and that is on June 6th. After that, I think we start every 2 weeks! Our next ultrasound is at 32 weeks, and I just can't wait to see our little girl.

We have also decided on a name for her. We have gone through many dozens of names, and we ended up going back to the first name we decided on back at 13 weeks. Not going to share it now, but you'll know soon enough!
